How We Handle Your Dental Benefits

We accept all PPO plans as out-of-network providers, which means we will bill your insurance company directly on your behalf as a courtesy. The estimated reimbursement amount from your plan is accepted as a form of payment; however, any applicable deductibles and co-pays are due at the time of service.

All insurance claims are filed electronically, so your insurance company receives your claim within days of your child’s treatment. We use specialized software to estimate the benefits your plan provides — but please keep in mind that this is an estimate only. Dental benefit plans vary widely — there are hundreds of plans across any given insurance carrier, each with different coverage levels, deductibles, and limitations.

While we do our very best to help you navigate your benefits, we are unable to guarantee what your insurance company will or will not cover for each claim. Employers also frequently update or change insurance plans, and any such changes can significantly affect your benefit level. We ask that you keep us informed of any coverage changes as soon as they occur.

We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance carrier directly for the most accurate and definitive information regarding your coverage and out-of-pocket costs. Understanding your plan benefits and agreements is ultimately your responsibility — but our team is always here to help guide you through the process. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Payment Options

We accept the following forms of payment for your convenience:

MasterCard, Visa, Apple Pay, and HSA (Health Savings Account) cards are all welcome at our Pinole office.

For families who need additional flexibility, we are pleased to offer Cherry Financing — a patient-friendly payment plan option that allows you to spread the cost of your child’s dental care over time with simple, manageable payments. If you have questions about financing or special payment arrangements, please speak with our office manager prior to receiving services and we will work with you to find a solution that fits your family’s needs.

Frequently Asked Questions – Insurance & Payment

Does Eastshore Pediatric Dental Group accept my dental insurance?

We accept all major PPO dental insurance plans as out-of-network providers, including Aetna, Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, Humana, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Concordia, and many more. If you don’t see your plan in our list, call us at (510) 964-0168 and our team will be happy to verify your benefits before your visit.

What does “out-of-network provider” mean for my benefits?

Being an out-of-network provider means we are not contracted with insurance companies at a set fee, but we still accept and bill your PPO insurance on your behalf. Most PPO plans include out-of-network benefits, and we work to maximize whatever your plan covers. Any deductibles and co-pays are due at the time of service, and we’ll provide you with an estimate of your expected costs at your child’s exam appointment.

Will you bill my insurance company directly?

Yes. As a courtesy to our patients, we file all insurance claims electronically on your behalf. Your insurance company will receive your claim within days of your child’s treatment. While we do our best to estimate your coverage accurately, please understand that benefit estimates are not a guarantee of payment — insurance plans vary widely and can change without notice.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept MasterCard, Visa, Apple Pay, and HSA cards. We also offer Cherry Financing for families who prefer to spread the cost of treatment over time. If you have questions about payment or need special financial arrangements, please speak with our office manager before your child’s appointment.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

Yes. We offer Cherry Financing — a flexible, patient-friendly option that allows families to break the cost of dental care into manageable monthly payments. Cherry is easy to apply for and offers a range of plan options to fit different budgets. Ask our front office team for details or visit withcherry.com/patients to learn more.

How do I find out what my insurance will cover before the appointment?

We recommend contacting your insurance carrier directly for the most accurate information about your specific plan’s coverage, deductibles, and annual maximums. Our team will also provide a written cost estimate at your child’s exam appointment and can help answer general benefits questions. For pre-appointment questions, call our Pinole office at (510) 964-0168.

What if my employer changes our dental insurance plan?

Please notify our office as soon as you are aware of any insurance changes — even mid-year changes can significantly affect your benefit level and your out-of-pocket costs. Keeping us updated ensures we can continue billing your insurance accurately and provide you with the most current cost estimates for your child’s care. You can reach us at (510) 964-0168 or through our contact page.
